Selfie Sticks to be banned at Walt Disney World

Effective June 30, 2015, leave those selfie sticks at home as they will not be welcome at Walt Disney World.

Disney will be adding the selfie stick to the list of prohibited items not allowed into its theme parks. The ban will extend the policy that is currently in place of not allowing the selfie sticks on rides.

All four of the Walt Disney World theme parks will be part of the new policy, as well as the water parks and DisneyQuest at Downtown Disney.

If you try to enter security with your selfie stick you will have two choices; take it back to your car and return without it or Guest Relations will be more than happy to store it for you so you may retrieve it at the end of the day. They will issue you a claim ticket so you don't lose this worthless piece of junk.

Other Disney Parks will adopt this policy on July 1, 2015.

Magic Kingdom to open for 24 hours on Memorial Day Weekend

Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort will kick off a Monstrous Summer by keeping three theme parks open for 24 hours nonstop on Memorial Day Weekend, the traditional start of the family travel season. The three-park all-night party is happening at the Magic Kingdom Park in Florida and Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure park in California. The parks will stay open from 6 a.m., May 24 to 6 a.m., May 25, 2013, local time. In Florida, Magic Kingdom Park will feature a “Monsters University” theme where Mike and Sulley will be the Grand Marshals of the “Celebrate a Dream Come True” day parade and make appearances in Tomorrowland. There will be extra entertainment throughout the day and night, including characters in their pajamas in Town Square during the late night and early morning, and late-night dance parties in and around the courtyard of Cinderella Castle.
